Body Butter
1/4 cup Cocoa Butter
1/4 cup Shea Butter
1/4 cup Coconut Oil
1/4 cup Sweet Almond Oil (or another light carrier oil of your choice)
10 drops of essential oils (try 4 drops Neroli, 4 Rose & 2 Sweet Orange)
Place all ingredients (except the essential oils) in glass bowl and gently melt over a pan of simmering water. Stir well to ensure all ingredients are combined. Take off the heat and allow to cool before mixing in your essential oils. Pop in the fridge until it just starts to harden around the edges (about an hour). Whip until the butter is nice and fluffy, spoon into sterile jars and pop back in the fridge for 10-15 minutes to set. Store in a cool, dark place.
Lip Balm
7g Beeswax
5g Cocoa Butter
12.5ml Apricot Kernel Oil
8 drops of essential oil (we recommend 4 drops each of Mandarin and Lime)
15ml jar with lid
Melt the Beeswax, Cocoa Butter and Apricot Oil in a bain-marie (as detailed above). Stir well and remove from the heat. Add the essential oils and mix again thoroughly. Pour the mixture into the jar and place in the fridge to set.
Moisturising Bath Creamers
600g sodium bicarbonate
300g citric acid
100g of natural talcum powder
100g Cocoa Butter
50g Shea Butter
12ml of your chosen essential oil (for a simple solution you could try our Relaxing or Sweet Dreams pure essential oil blends)
Latex gloves
Dried botanicals / flower petals
Tray with a layer of baking parchment on for drying the creamers
A non stick baking tray to lay out your botanicals
In a bowl combine the dry ingredients thoroughly using a sieve. In a separate bowl melt the butters over a bain marie. Remove from the heat and add your essential oils. Mix well. Wearing gloves add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly (like mixing cookie dough). Mould into small balls and roll in the botanicals / flower petals to decorate. Place them on the tray with baking parchment and leave to dry / set in a warm place. Instead of making balls you could press the mixture into a chocolate mould and sprinkle the botanicals on top. Once dry store in an airtight container and use within 3 months.
Shimmery Body Massage Bar
50g Cocoa Butter
25g Extra Virgin Coconut Butter
25g Shea Butter
Cosmetic grade mica powder if you want the shimmer
Cake / chocolate moulds (use small sized moulds as a little massage bar goes a long way)
Optional: 30 drops (1.5ml) of essential oil - you can just leave it natural to enjoy the subtle scent of the butters
Melt the butters in a bain marie or just in a pan over a gentle heat. In a separate container mix a little mica powder with a little melted coconut butter to disperse the powder. Pour in a small amount of your melted butter and mix well. Add the remainder of the butter and mix again. Pour carefully into your moulds and place in the fridge to set. To use: massage the bar into your skin. The warmth of your hands will cause the bar to melt in nicely.
