Organic Hemp Seed (Cannabis sativa) Oil is cold pressed from the seeds of the hemp plant. It has a dark green colour with a pleasing nutty, grassy aroma.

Hemp Seed Oil is one of the most nourishing yet under-utilised base oils. It is in rich in Vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B6, C, D, and antioxidant Vitamin E. It also contains a number of minerals including calcium, magnesium, sulphur, potassium, iron and zinc. It has the highest level of naturally occurring essential fatty acids in any plant-based oil, with a perfect balance of Omega 3 and Omega 6. It is also one of the richest sources of polyunsaturated fatty acids which have strong, healing properties and help to keep our skin soft, supple and younger looking and our hair healthy and strong.

Organic Hemp Seed Oil is light in texture and readily absorbed. It can be used for massage and is also excellent for skincare, helping to moisturise and revitalise the skin. It is particularly good for dry and damaged skin including eczema and psoriasis as well as minor skin abrasions and acne. It can be added to shampoos and hair conditioners to promote a healthy scalp and its anti-inflammatory properties can be beneficial in massage to soothe sore muscles.

Use the oil on its own or dilute with another carrier oil of your choice.

Storage Advice: Hemp Seed Oil is best kept refrigerated after opening as it is sensitive to light and heat.

NOTE: Hemp Seed Oil does not have narcotic properties even though it comes from the same plant that produces cannabis/marijuana. There are a number of varieties of Cannabis sativa and ‘industrial hemp’ is grown legally in many countries for its seed, fibre content and by-products such as Hemp Oil. The varieties grown for cannabis/marijuana are scientifically different and cultivated in very different ways.
